Enhance emotional openness. Build flexible responding. Deepen social connectedness.
What is RO-DBT?
Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy is an evidence-based treatment designed for individuals who struggle with overcontrol—excessive perfectionism, emotional inhibition, or rigid thinking. This skills class will help participants:
✔ Develop greater emotional expression
✔ Improve interpersonal relationships
✔ Increase psychological flexibility
✔ Cultivate self-compassion and openness
Who is this for?
Ideal for individuals who display maladaptive self-control. This could manifest as perfectionism, emotional inhibition, rigid thinking, loneliness, or having difficulty making connections with others. We’ll send all potential group members an assessment to be sure these skills are what are needed and will follow up with a brief intake interview before starting the group.
What is new about RO-DBT? Are these the same as DBT skills?
While DBT talks about building a life worth living, RO-DBT talks about building a life worth sharing. The class will help participants develop greater emotional expression, improve interpersonal relationships, increase psychological flexibility, and cultivate self-compassion and openness.
